Driving through Arkansas was pleasantly (and surprisingly) beautiful. We decided to move on from the Current River and began the journey across the Missouri/Arkansas state border.
The Glory Hole
Our main stop in the Ozarks was a little hike to this place called Glory Hole Falls (seriously, who named it that?!). It's off the side of the road, not well marked and surprisingly there aren't any shops near by that sell Glory Hole koozies, etc. (do I hear a business opportunity??). It's a short little hike down, then you hike up on the way back. From the top, it's not too pretty. But once we were inside the cave it was really quite pretty.
We camped a few hours south of the Glory Hole Falls at Horsehead Campground. This was a strategic stop because i knew it had shower facilities and we were planning on visiting my Family the next day (see how that turned out in later stories!). The campground was simple and peaceful at night, but you could tell it was very heavily frequented in the day time.
We had to cross a little river to get the campsite though, so Burt got his toes wet!
Here are some night time camp photos too!
