Mt. Pilchuck

This is a “Lategram” (is there a word for that on blogs??). Earlier this summer we took on one of the lengthier hikes - that I’ve ever done - to the Mt. Pilchuck Fire Lookout. Unfortunately, a lot of Washington and BC were experiencing forest fires, so we encountered a lot of smoke and low visibility.

Even with the smoke, we could tell this mountain was breathtakingly epic. It was a very strenuous hike, 2300 ft. of elevation gain over 2.5 miles. Boy were our legs sore the next day!

The climb was well worth it. We’re going to have to come back next spring on a clear day in order to really see the view (I can only imagine how killer it would have been!). We explored the fire lookout and then stopped on a boulder for lunch. Apparently you can camp in the fire lookout over night if you want to!
