Bridal Veil & Lake Serene

April 30, 2017 Elise Berns

Bridal Veil Falls

This weekend we headed out towards Index, WA to hike Bridal Veil Falls and Lake Serene. Due to it's popularity, it was great to go early in Spring before busy season. Plus we got to see some snow again!

The first two miles take you through small creeks and rushing waters to the falls. They were beautiful (probably extra powerful due to the snow melt).

Lake Serene

From the falls, it's 2 more miles up to Lake Serene. It's pretty steep and a great booty workout (I was sore the next day). The last half mile or so was covered in snow - a little slippery, but doable in hiking boots. Our pup Boo really loved the snow, she rolled in it for a minute or two when we first came up on it.

When we made it to the top we stopped for lunch. The lake at the top was partially frozen over and so pretty. We were able to watch avalanches fall from the upper peaks of mount Index from our lunch spot - mother nature is so cool!
